Pinecroft at Crosley Estate is a beautiful mansion in Cincinnati. It’s so beautiful, in fact, that event attendees sometime feel nervous about entering its numerous rooms and discovering all of the treasures each one holds.
But the team at Pinecroft has developed a few tactics to get attendees moving through the rooms and networking with each other that you can use at your next event. And luckily, they shared a few of those tactics with us!
Place a cocktail table in each room
Attendees have always loved to look at each room of Pinecroft... from the doorway. So a signal was needed to alert everyone that they were more than welcome to come on in. That signal came in the form of a cocktail table. There is something about these taller tables that tells attendees that it’s okay to bring in drinks and food, and ultimately, interact with each other.
Put two bars on either side of the space
If you are serving alcohol at your event, two bars can help your attendees explore. By placing them on either end, your attendees will be forced to pass by rooms they may not have had a reason to go into otherwise. And this exploration will make attendees cross paths with each other and have a conversation-starter. Yes, all of this can happen by simply making your attendees to either side of the space to get their drinks.
Pass the hors d'oeuvres
Whereas people have no problem moving away from stationary bars to mingle, a stationary food station can lead to individuals lingering around the tasty morsels, either for something to do for those that are shy or simply because the food is amazing. But passing those hors d’oeuvres? It stops those lingering guests from staying in one place and forces them to interact.
