Day One:

Queen City Underground

This beer-making heritage is revealed on a stroll through Over-the-Rhine, home to America’s largest set of historical brewery landmarks. Guests will visit buildings in the Gateway District that were home to more than 130 saloons, bars and beer gardens, and theaters that hosted the iconic heroes Charlie Chaplin and Wild Bill Hickok. Newport Gangster Tour

Voted by Cincinnati Magazine as a “Best Walking Tour,” this two-hour award-winning tour begins with two gangster guides leading a raucous, high-energy presentation inside an old casino. For the remaining 90 minutes, visitors can prowl the streets where gangsters made their millions, gamblers lost their lives, and ladies of the night earned their living as Newport grew to become a premier U.S. gaming destination. Your group can see the buildings that housed casinos, brothels, and speakeasies, explore Newport's connection to well-known crime figures and learn about the individuals who gave the town its infamous reputation.

Prohibition Resistance Brewery Tour

Historical tour of Cincinnati before and during Prohibition. The King of the Bootleggers and F Scott Fitzgerald’s inspiration for the Great Gatsby operated out of Cincinnati. This tour proceeds into modern times to explain what makes bourbon different from whisky and can include a bourbon tasting. Distilling is making a comeback in the region, so make plans to taste on some spirits at a local distillery like New Riff Distilling or Woodstone Creek Distillery during your visit.

Moerlein Lager House Heritage and Brewery Tour

As part of the celebration of Cincinnati’s rich brewing heritage, groups can experience a unique and educational 75-minute program that features a guided tour of Moerlein Lager House brewery. Led and entertained by one of Moerlein Lager House’s seasoned and knowledgeable brewers, visitors will be impressed by this guided tour of Cincinnati’s beer history throughout the Moerlein Lager House, featuring painstakingly displayed historical photos, documents and other memorabilia. Known as an excellent local gastropub, Moerlein is also a perfect spot for your travelers to enjoy burgers and pub food. Two commemorative beer or non-alcoholic drink tokens are provided per person.

Cincy Winter Beer Fest

Two big nights held annually the second weekend of February, this Craft Beer Festival is listed as one of the top ten in the nation. Over 40 breweries offering over 350 craft beers. Several ticket packages available but all include up to 25 samples and a souvenir mug. An even not to miss for the beer aficionado. Held in conjunction with Beer Week in Cincinnati where may different bars, taverns and breweries in town offer special tastings and offers to patrons.
