Six Consecutive Years of Growth. And Counting.
In 2010, Cincinnati USA earned our sixth consecutive year of growth in the two major metrics that drive our industry. We finished 2010 with contracts representing more than 200,000 future hotel room night bookings and nearly $60 million in new visitor spending. These figures are up 14 percent since 2007 and up 33 percent since 2005, by far the largest increases in our competitive set.
2011 is already shaping up to be one of our best convention years and the region will host more than 150 meetings and conventions, including the League of United Latin American Citizens National Convention, the Shrine and the Elks. Importantly, the CVB improved its sales conversion rate by an impressive 62 percent from 2007 - 2010.
In 2010, the CVB launched the first phase of its "Think Global. Meet Local." campaign with a variety of media relations, video, local advertising and web initiatives. The program is designed to encourage support of the local convention industry among regional business, social and government professionals.
And according to data from the Trends Analysis and Projections (TAP) Report, Cincinnati USA is outpacing regional competitors like Atlanta, Philadelphia and Nashville in future bookings for the years 2011-2014.
