Sales Manager

Job Category:  Sales and Services
Reports To:   Director of Sales
Supervises: None

As a sales manager for Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau you will

  • Generate convention center and hotel bookings from assigned market segment
  • Vigorously prospect for new business to create and maintain your client base.  Identify and develop target customers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of Cincinnati’s facilities and selling points and how to use that information to sell against the competition.
  • Prepare and present sales (written or oral) presentations to customer boards or site selection committees.  Coordinate and conduct site tours.
  • Attend industry tradeshows, sales trips, networking events, etc to solicit convention business, includes pre-planning, collaborating with Marketing on collateral, selecting target customers, pre-and-post show mailers
  • Manage spending to stay within budget

Requirements: 

  • Education / Experience: 
    • Previous experience in hospitality industry sales or marketing required
    • BA/BS degree (or equivalent related experience)
    • Hotel sales or CVB experience preferred
  • Must demonstrate ability to deliver room night goal results
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and diplomacy
  • Maintain a commitment to professionalism, excellence and integrity
  • Willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on client and office demands
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)

Part-time Administrative Assistant

Job Category:  Sales and Services
Reports To:   Vice President, Sales and Services
Hours: 20-24 hours per week

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to busy vice president with ultimate responsibility for sales function.
    • Draft and distribute correspondence
    • Create reports and presentations
    • Assist VP with time and calendar management
    • Coordinate sales meetings:  send invitations, record attendance, record/read minutes, cue presentation, and assist with room set-up
    • Collect/organize weekly sales updates from sales managers and create reports
    • Arrange tradeshow logistics and registrations
    • Schedule travel arrangements for sales team along with movement of marketing material
  • Supplement administrative support to sales managers during peak work loads or staff shortages

Requirements: 

  • Education / Experience: 
    • Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative support role
    • High school diploma, some college preferred
  • Professional and assertive oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Intermediate level experience on Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
