This Spirit of Cincinnati USA Award is presented to individuals who have worked with the CVB to bring important meetings to the region. 2009 was a banner year, with recent announcements about the coming 2011 Shriners Convention, the 2012 World Choir Games and the 2013 National Fraternal Order of Police National Conference, among others. Winner Profile: In 2007, Dr. Charles Fold won the Champion Award for helping Cincinnati USA win the 2009 Gospel Music Workshop of America event. A Cincinnati native, Dr. Fold helped spark the explosion of the traditional Gospel choir sound beginning in the 1970s and was instrumental in helping the region win the 2009 Workshop. He passed away in 2006 before seeing his work come to fruition this past summer, but the huge success of the 2009 event is a lasting testament to his love of gospel music and the city of Cincinnati.
