Spirit of Cincinnati USA Awards

Honor Breakthrough Performance in the Local Hospitality Industry

Welcome to the official Web site for the Spirit of Cincinnati USA Awards!  Nominations are now being accepted for the highest honor bestowed by the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Spirit of Cincinnati USA Awards.

Nominations can be submitted online throughout the year. A selection committee representing hotels, restaurants, attractions, service and transportation businesses will determine the winners, who will be introduced at the CVB’s Annual Meeting each year at the Duke Energy Convention Center.

The awards recognize and thank those individuals and organizations that effectively capture and communicate what makes Cincinnati USA great. Nominees are the leaders on the front lines and those behind the scenes that have helped Cincinnati USA forge ahead by bringing in new business, earning national acclaim, and ushering in progress.
Nominations can be submitted by managers, co-workers, customers and others.

The five award categories are:
  • Champion Award for Convention/Meeting Sales. This award is presented to one or more individuals who have worked with the CVB to bring important meetings to Cincinnati USA.

  • Wendell P. Dabney Award for Diversity.  This award is named for the son of a Virginia slave who attended college in Cincinnati and was an author, publisher, musician and political activist early in the 20th century.  It goes to an individual or organization for the practice of diversity and inclusion.

  • Pinnacle Award for Outstanding Service. The Pinnacle Award honors individuals on the front line of the hospitality industry; those who set an example for others by their excellent customer service.  These individuals go beyond the call of duty.

  • Queen City Advocate. This award is given to an individual(s) or organization(s) whose actions have attracted positive media coverage of Cincinnati USA.

  • Partnership Award. The Partnership Award recognizes an individual or organization who has partnered with the Cincinnati USA CVB and made significant contributions to the local meetings and tourism industry.

Please provide specific scenarios demonstrating the reason for the nomination. If you have multiple nominations, please fill out separate forms for each.
We strongly encourage support documentation regarding each nominee.
